A little about me
Hi! I'm Kushalie. I’m a psychologist who believes in keeping things real, honest, and human. Let's get one thing straight, I’m not here to “fix” you, because you’re not broken. You might feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that don’t make sense, but that doesn’t mean something’s wrong with you. It means you’re human, and you’ve been doing your best to cope, even if those ways aren’t working anymore.
My role isn’t to judge or give you a list of things to change. It’s to hold space for your story, help you understand what’s really going on underneath the surface, and support you in unlearning the habits, beliefs, and pressures that no longer serve you. If you're used to being the strong one, the overthinker, the perfectionist, guess what! You're not alone. Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to carry it all by yourself. Together, we’ll work toward building a life that feels more grounded, connected, and aligned with who you truly are, not just who you think you “should” be.
I’m a Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Psychology of Applied Behaviour Change, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Diploma in Child and Adolescent Psychology and I’ve been in the mental health field for 7+ years. I stay grounded in research-backed practices, but I also believe in being a real human in the room.

My Approach
My style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I’m here to be real with you — not robotic. I’ll bring curiosity, compassion, and zero judgment, and I’ll always respect your pace. I’m not just going to nod along and ask, “And how does that make you feel?” (unless it’s actually helpful). You can expect thoughtful questions, honest reflections, and gentle nudges when you’re ready for them.
I see therapy as a conversation, not a performance. You don’t need to come in with everything figured out or say things perfectly. You can show up anxious, confused, tired, awkward — all versions of you are welcome here.
And yes, sometimes we might even laugh. I believe humor can be a really healing part of the process. Life is heavy enough — it’s okay (and often necessary) to find lightness where we can.
I also take a holistic approach to mental health, which means we’ll look at the whole you, not just the hard stuff. We’ll talk about how you feel, but also what’s happening in your body, your relationships, your environment, and your day-to-day life. Everything’s connected — your nervous system, your habits, your sense of purpose — and it all matters. Sometimes healing looks like deep conversations, and sometimes it looks like better boundaries, more rest, or learning how to breathe again.
In our work together, I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, and other evidence-based practices that help you gain clarity, manage emotions, and shift unhelpful patterns. I also use Motivational Interviewing to support change at your own pace, especially when you’re feeling stuck or unsure where to begin.
That said, therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. Depending on your needs, I may integrate tools from other approaches like DBT, or ACT. My goal is always to tailor the process to you, your personality, your goals, and what actually feels helpful in your real life.
We’ll figure out what you need, together.
